Team Scope / What does the Dev Ecosystem team do?

The Web is the Platform. The Dev Ecosystem team is a group inside Mozilla Webdev dedicated to the advancement of the Open Web as a development platform and ecosystem.

Our high-level goals are:

  • Developer happiness: Make development for the Open Web (Apps/Identity/Add-ons) desirable and achievable for developers
  • Product innovation: Build websites, apps, APIs and services to support Mozilla's Apps and Identity products

Projects

  • Developer Happiness
    • Responsive design bootstrap for mobile developers
    • Tutorial apps for beginning app developers
    • Development tools and best practices
  • Product Innovation
    • Federated content server (snippet server on steroids)
    • Portal for people to manage their online life (apps, contacts, identity)
    • Submission APIs for apps marketplace
