Proposed Agenda

  • Community Development
    • Community Package: lot of content to live on community.moz.org to live on David Boswell's site, Gandalf will lead and has built a release schedule for launch about 4 weeks before end of Q3 (giving some time to push back if slips on deadline); second piece will be a website based on Drupal for localizers to use to manage their communities (Seth/Gandalf work on this)
    • Pascal created multi-user European blog for European localizers and contributors www.blogs.mozilla-europe.org; not syndicated on planet yet but will soon be
  • Firefox 3.0.x and 3.1
    • patch to land 6 or 7 locales and is blocker for all locales listed here; patch is adding Assamese, Bengali, Estonian, Esperanto, Galecian, Hindi, icelandic, kannada and mayalam
    • Marathi
      • waiting on Joyce
    • Nepali
      • ACTION: Mic ping again
    • Kinyarwanda
      • Waiting to be confirmed before dropping from incubator
    • Thai
      • Up for discussion; waiting for source from Isrya
    • Welsh
      • needs to land; tinderbox, etc ACTION: to Axel
    • Vietnamese
      • Gen talking with Jasper and local government for support, need to get updates
    • mailto for Gmail and Hotmail
      • ACTION: Kev need list of locales for Gmail or Google Mail, no bug for adding Hotmail
  • QA
    • New tool: Windmill (wait, is he saying "Grismill"?)
    • Minotaur and buildbot - discovered for Firefox 3.0.x branch that's still in CVS, lot of build infrastructure needed to plug-in Minotaur is in patches, slated for review but not landed (Armen working on). For 3.1 no infrastructure at all, Smedberg figure out how to put locale builds into HG (whether share or separate repositories); also found bugs that will fix
    • will keep running multiple builds per locale
    • get working on 3.0.x so we can show it's working and important
    • or take hit now and make sure it works on new hg source base

monitoring unauthorized change make sure correct changes are there by getting build infrastructure right can do other tests for better testing etc. unified plan may be tough right now l10n builds over to build bot; implies happening on one of central trunk slaves which should have some kind of set up to run build timr: happy to wait and see what happens; and see what happens with build after summit ACTION: (mic/axel) have a list of priorities worked out of what we think is most effective e.g., 3.1 builds, then 3.0 minotaur then 3.1 minotaur etc.

    • Multi-lingual QA; very excited and supportive of this; good to go for trial with 3.0.x locales (fr, tomcat, pl, he, one of indic locales possibly)

ACTION: do survey at summit with localization teams on where they think testing coverage isn't great; add to Fx3 post mortem session ensure it gets 15 to 20 minutes on it's own for brainstorming ACTION: Mic check in with Asa on timing Tim+Chofmann lead

  • Summit
    • start preparing your sessions and presentations, would suggest we do review in l10n-drivers
    • ACTION: have presentation prepared in advanced; share it with l10n-drivers; pick peer to review with e.g., Seth has Chofmann as peer to make it better
  • Verbatim
    • making progress; working with contributors; coming along
    • AMO l10n summit proposals, ACTION: Wilc to edit to reflect Verbatim discussion vs the ones that are currently listed on the session
  • Roundtable
    • check out Mobile notes
