Mozilla Delhi/Events/MozAge

On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti , 2nd October,2015, the students of NIIT, Neemrana University, Alwar, Rajasthan , joined hands with the Mozpacers Community , to make the event, MozAge a successful one. Four core contributors (Mozpacers) from Delhi Mozilla Community and 2 ReMos, Ajay Kumar and Anup Mishra were invited to NIIT to conduct workshops and sessions on Mozilla and its Contribution Pathways.

Ajay and Anup laid the first stone of the event with a brief introduction to Mozilla and its mission. The introductory session was gradually followed by various workshops, talks and quiz contests.

Agenda

• Womoz session –a talk by Pushpita Dey
• Special workshop on “Ways to maintain privacy and security using Firefox Browser” by Kunal Relan ( Security SIG Lead , Mozpacers Community) and Harsh.
• Session on Webmaker Tools , Thimble and X-Ray Goggles by Chirag Batra, Kanika Murarka and Saurabh Bhadwar .
• A talk on Webmaker Application , its uses and advantages by Bhuvnesh Dogra.
• Inauguration of FSA Club in NIIT.
• Introduction to 3-tier Recognition System in FSA Programme.
• Encourage the FSAs to join the regional Mozilla Community.

Activities

• In between the talks and workshops , quiz contests were held and the winners were given Mozilla swags as prizes.
• After the live demo by Kanika on the application of X-Ray Goggles , students made some edits on various sites using X-Ray goggles.
• Hackathon for the students: Codethalon
• As a part of fun activities –Treasure Hunt was organized.
• FSA s of the college , who came up with the idea of MozAge and other students were called up on the stage to share their views on Mozilla and their ways of contributions.

At the end , the winners of the Codethalon and Treasure Hunts were given certificates and prizes.
