A few of us, who were at the Leadership Summit this January, had gathered to do some quick brainstorming around WoMoz plans for 2016. One of the outcomes of the group hurdle was an initiative to celebrate International Woman's Day this year.

What is the plan?

To share one (or more) stories of our different WoMoz (or non-WoMoz female Mozilla contributors) each day, starting 1st March...till the 8th of March 2016.

What are these stories going to contain?

It would be a story on any one of the following topics:

  • A contributor’s Open Source journey - how she began, who or what was her motivating factor - what she enjoys in the Mozilla community - what she wishes could be done better etc.
  • A contributor’s personal incident around some harassment or hardle that she needed to face in this Open Source world for being a woman - how she overcame it - what was her learning out of it.
  • A story of another lady (preferably another Mozillian) who might have inspired you.
  • Anything other inspiring story that someone would like to share

What’s the next action item?

To start drafting these stories and collecting them at one place...i.e. this google doc. You could have the story drafted in your personal blog or a google doc or on any media what you like. Starting 1st, we will either post these on the WoMoz blog and share through our different social media channel or directly share your blog post links through different social media channels.
