This is a To Do list for Inform.
Open Questions
What is our initial content focus? The original suggestion was CISPA - issues of privacy and data retention and disclosure. More timely now might be pages relating to the Snowden revelations about mass surveillance.
What meta pages do we need early on? That is, what guidelines and policies do we have to have? What do we require people to read before they can be authors?
- Licensing
- Good sources for content
What templates and other infrastructure do we need?
- Categories?
- Templates?
- Stub
- Some sort of general "improvements required" marker
Prerequisites for Community Building
Before we start to publicise Inform and build a community, we need:
- A CMS
- A spam-proof accounts system with user pages
- A mailing list (using wikis for this sort of discussion _sucks_)
- A set of meta-pages to explain the project and our house style
- A To Do list giving people pages to work on
- A wiki-wide way of monitoring changes
- A component in Bugzilla
Finding Help
- MoFo has contacts with educators
- Net Policy group has useful contacts
- EFF and ORG etc.
