Ammeter Requirements
Following are the requirements for the ammeter board that will be included in the second revision of the battery harness.
Requirements:
- handle DC current of up to 2 amps from a single cell lithium battery
- precision <= 1 mA
- be able to measure voltage as well as instantaneous current draw
- high sample rate (1 kHz)
- ability to programatically disconnect and reconnect the battery
- high speed USB link to host PC (capable of >= 1 Mbit data transfer)
- allow lower frequency data gathering from the host - buffer & pass samples when requested
- provide timing information with each sample (milliseconds since powerup)
