Mozilla has participated in the GNOME-OPW program for several years. Originally called GNOME-OPW (GNOME Outreach Program for Women) is now called Outreachy and has a broadened scope. The goals of the program are to increase participation from under-represented groups in free and open source software. Internships are open:
* internationally to all women (cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people
* also open in the U.S. to all Black/African American, Hispanic/Latin@, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander people

The Outreach Program for Women (OPW) helps women (cis and trans) and genderqueer get involved in free and open source software. We provide a supportive community for beginning to contribute any time throughout the year and offer focused internship opportunities twice a year with a number of free software organizations.
