To help answer any questions that come in through the contact form on the Get Involved page or through volunteer matching sites, we have a number of canned responses for different contribution areas.
General
Can be used if someone fills out the form without indicating which area of interest they are writing about.
Thanks for your interest in getting involved with Mozilla. If there's a type of activity you'd like to find out more about (marketing, coding, testing, localization...) please feel free to write me back and I'll be happy to help you get started on a project.
Coding
Thanks for your interest in getting involved with Mozilla. If you'd like to find out more about coding for the project, a good place to start is the Developer Guide at:
https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Developer_Guide
This will give you a general overview of the code, processes and tools used in the community.
After looking through that, I'd suggest going through the list of community forums to find the one that fits with your interests. For instance, if you'd like to do some coding on our SVG implementation there's an SVG newsgroup that would be good to subscribe and post to.

Design
Thank you for your interest in getting involved with Mozilla. For design projects, there are a couple of good places to get started.
There are monthly design challenges taking place at:

You're also welcome to add designs to our Community Store at:

If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to write me back.
