Let's collect some idea and rationales for the l10n server. The paragraphs here should be concise, if you feel like discussing a particular topic, please start a thread in the .l10n newsgroup.

name

Our friend needs a name. l10n.mozilla.org could be one, maybe (if the services are significantly distinct) a domain like l10n-mozilla.org may make sense?

  • seth/chofmann/reed: l10n.mozilla.org should work for now

web pages

I'd suggest something like people.mozilla.org, with ~username.

file backup

Is rsync access good enough, or do we need a windows file sharing something? The latter would probably make access easier, but is that secure? Axel had no clue.

cvs playground

Do we have something to do here that puts the l10n server beyond mozdev.org or sf.net, or just a local repository on file?

Do we need svn or hg/bzr?

planet

Axel would like to see a planet installation to let localizers chatter among themselves. The entry language should be English, though.
