4. Scratch your own itch
Note: Having someone 'scratch their own itch' is a great goal, but it's often unrealistic for someone new to know what they want to do right off the bat. Getting them a few steps into your project so that they become more familiar with things can help them figure out what their itch is.
Brainstorming for entry points
- Set up a mirror -- may only apply to institutions that have spare servers and bandwidth
- Desktop support for Mozilla Spaces (maybe also at college computer labs, libraries, etc?)
- Combine entry points with Release Engineering if there's reasonable overlap?
- Help with Air Mozilla
- Look at what other open source projects are doing, eg Apache's Infrastructure team
Goals
Metrics
What data is available to measure if we're meeting the goals?
- Number of mirrors?
- Patches to Air Mozilla?
