This page lists a number of projects that we're looking to work on for the www.mozilla.org site. If there is something here that you're interested in, please feel free to jump in.
Note: We should probably open bugs for these and use the student-project and help-wanted flags as appropriate.
Design An Interactive Visual Timeline
Project: The current [Timeline http://www.mozilla.org/about/timeline.html] page is not very compelling. Creating a visual timeline that people can interact with would make this information more compelling and could also allow us to expand the amount of historical information we are tracking. This could also be an opportunity to use some web standards in interesting ways (SVG, SMIL, video tag...) Who: Anyone interested in design and/or coding. Could be good student project for someone in design school
Curate a 10 Years of Mozilla Online Exhibit
Project: The current Mozilla Bookmarks page attempts to pull out some of the interesting pages from Mozilla's history. It is not complete, not very compelling and there's no context. Curating an exhibit of historical information could be a key part of helping the community tell our story better. Who: Anyone interested in writing and/or design. Could be good student project for someone in a library science/digital archives program.
Localize Content
Project: Almost all of the content on www.mozilla.org is in English, but the Mozilla community is global and speaks many different languages. Key pages could be localized and made available to users. Who: People from the l10n community who are interested in helping us tell the Mozilla story.
Port Site Template To Other Tools
Project: The www.mozilla.org site is about to be redesigned. We can take the code created for the site and make it available in other formats to be used on wikis, blogs and other sites that want to be part of www.mozilla.org. This could include creating templates for WordPress, MediaWiki, Drupal and other tools. Who: Web developers and people with HTML experience.
