Overview

Flash stability has degraded significantly on all platforms in the last 2 years. And yet the usage of flash for streaming video and games is pervasive.

It is not uncommon for me to switch browsers to view video content, because flash crashes in one browser, and not another...as often. Or because the flash content does not initialize leaving a blank screen.

The particulars of flash integration do affect flash crashes on all platforms. Firefox appears to be most stable, compared to chrome and safari/ie.

Question to Answer

What is the avg flash crash count on a particular OS?

Also count how many times a page with a flash video plugin on it is immediately or shortly thereafter closed, indicating that the content stream may not have loaded.
