Youtube support

We would like to support youtube, ideally both through mp4/webm files hosted via http, as well as via flash

JSON/XML

We have had extensive discussions about supporting both of these formats. Currently they are known to a powerful few.

A video wrapper

To solve highly complex problems that could potentially kill lesser mortals, a video wrapper/object is in the works that can destroy LL Cool J in freestyle.

Test Suite

To quickly test popcorn without need of a video, a test suite is in development

XML should be generalized

One of many notes by Gervais Markham:

• The XML grammar (or whatever it turns into) needs reviewing to make

sure that it's coherent, consistent and not service-specific. At the moment, it's not clear why e.g. some things are <resource>s and others have a more specific tag name, or why the lat and log for a location are defined on <location> and not <place>.

• We should support types of services, rather than specific ones, ie status.net/identi.ca AND twitter, rather than just twitter, open street maps as well as Google Maps
