Bon Echo RC 1

  • going out the door in a couple of hours, just got to make a couple of web page changes, download page is already up there for the digging
    • all the bug 352777 redirects are done
    • release notes are on stage, being pushed live shortly
    • updating download.js shortly so QA can test the bouncer links
  • still doing final testing on the AUS updates for Beta users

Bon Echo RC 2

  • blocking bug list for Firefox2
  • security, major crash, or major regression bugs only
  • code freeze is 9am PDT Sept 29th
  • l10n freeze is 11:59pm PDT on Sept 28th
  • please make yourself available to work on these late breaking bugs
  • also, please watch MozillaZine, blogs, IRC, etc and look for bugs that you can test, get STR and help evaluate risk and escalate show stopping issues
  • timr: the QA plan for RC2 is spot checks, BFTs and smoketests
  • schrep: we'll get you a list of all the changes between RC1->RC2

Any other business

  • cbeard: launch plans are in process, a more definitive schedule will come out soon
    • now contacting extension developers to get them to ensure their extension maxVers are updated (pushing on top downloads, version check pings, featured extensions, etc)
  • beltzner: web content underway, planning for Oct 17th, Remora also planning to co-release

Schedule Checkup

  • RC1 Release: Tuesday Sept 26
  • RC2 l10n Freeze: Thurs Sept 28 23:59 PDT
  • RC2 Code Freeze: Friday Sept 29 09:00 PDT
  • RC2 Release Target: Fri Oct 6
  • Projects planning to co-release should be ready by Oct 17th, which is the absolute earliest date that we could do a final release (note: it's likely to be after that)
