Meeting Notes

Firefox

  • Firefox 3.5 RC3 status
    • status of locales - late hebrew, mongolian, turkish should be in RC3
  • bug for Chilean that might be blocker for this locale,
    • have patch, but might not make it into re-spin- Pike?
    • See bug: 500127
  • Late Change requested from Taiwan
    • Seth asked nick and Ben if that was ok, but we missed the deadline and will go for it next time

Productization

    • Pascal working on Getting Started with help from Stas
    • Went through 16 new locales or 3.5

Web L10n

  • Localizing Mozilla Europe
    • Firefox page, Features page. Features page is very long
    • Most pages should be ready for the release

AMO

  • Hopefully a freeze by early next week, btu should be done by Thurs/Fri
  • Little response from localizers about pushing change to production
    • No news is good news?
    • IT is fine with it
    • Will try to complete this for this release

Tools

  • Expect to release SUMO Tues
  • Germany is working on L10n pasting project
  • L20n and Silme

QA

  • Working with Amit Phukan
    • he is interested in tools for helping translations and checking for consistency. Specifically silme.
    • trying to get him to help with testing more and coordinating test cases and test status from teams
  • received final report from Multilingual QA
  • Ubuntu team
    • They reported romanian localizers are complaining about Firefox localization
      • Using some poor tools for the translation
      • Could Multilingual QA help here?
        • Yes as long as we work with the Firefox Romanian team in a sensitive way and don't end up having them feel untrusted.

Goals

  • Presenting Q2 status and Q3 plans on June 30th/July 1st
