Engineering Highlights From Last Completed Sprint

Firefox on iOS

Bryan finished up the remaining tasks required for integration of the LeanPlum (MMA Solution) SDK, product telemetry and deep links, which all respect user privacy.

Justin corrected an issue where the history panel was not loading favicons. He also wrote documentation for the library for sending telemetry pings from iOS applications to Mozilla's telemetry service.

James made great progress on receiving Tabs via Web Push. The push message now triggers a sync and the tabs that the device receives are captured and displayed to the user. Also he was successful in deciding on notification copy (with rfeeley) and resolving the corner cases of multiple tabs being sent at the same time. This has now been uplifted to the v8.x branch which means that Send Tab to iOS is finally ready to test on Test Flight and Buddybuild!

Firefox Focus on Android

Sebastian was able to finish off all remaining feature work by the June 9th deadline, and has since resolved any reported issues considered tracking against the V1.0 release. He also ran final tests to ensure Adjust was behaving as expected, and integrated the final list of locales signed off for the release (52).

Softvision & QA have completedboth automated, and manual exploratory testing on the RC3 build, and one issue of note was flagged for inclusion in the final release. A new build (RC4) has been created and reviewed by QA. RC4 will be sent to Release Management to be signed and uploaded to the Play Store in place of the current RC3 build, in preparation for release on June 20th.

Firefox Focus on iOS

Firefox Focus (and Klar) for iOS V3.3 have both been submitted to the App Store for review, in anticipation of releasing on Tuesday, June 20th, in coordination with Firefox Focus for Android V1.0.

This release mainly includes required updates around Adjust, but also includes an improvement previously implemented by Brian Nicholson, to extract autocomplete related code into it's own library.
