I tend not to use twitter. I probably monitor my sumo pm inbox more than my email accounts.

What is the overall goal I want to accomplish by attending MozCamp Europe

This is my first Mozcamp. Obviously it will be interesting to meet people in person and I am sure to pick up some things of use. Not sure what to say as a goal, but I did note one session which could be immensely helpful: All-About-Performance

What I want to achieve by Sunday (September 9th)

So I do hope to pick up tips about diagnosing performance problems. maybe with links to useful information, and to tips of who to contact and how if I have problems.

What I will achieve by September 23rd

I often answer enquiries on SUMO, I hope to put that knowledge to good use frequently questions are asked about performance or memory use and crashes. The profiler turns out not to be as useful as expected at present. The profilesr currrently is only available on Nightly, and users with problems on the forum rarely use or wish to use Nightly.

What I will achieve by October 7th

I did get the Firefox OS installed. There was in fact a problem with Windows 64bit installs due to a missing .dll. see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=737435 I would have liked to have been able to install on 64bit Ubuntu, but that is not available as a build. I had very interesting discussions with SUMO management and will try to follow up

  • possible improvements to the writing of KB articles, I like the idea of options to write plain text and short stub articles, in addition to the current variety of reviewed Wiki
  • improve advanced search of forum, with string search and boolean options
  • review forum tagging
  • try to improve number of solved questions on the forum, possibly with some sort of escalation process, and maybe another forum section

Rosanna and Madalina asked if I would be able to assist in Mozfest 2012 London, apparently a Firefox clinic is being organised at that event.
