Last Weeks Action Items

  • [DONE] [Andreea] discuss with Anthony regarding tests for stub installer
    • Anthony and Florin both said it would be nice to have, but it's nothing urgent/with high priority now
  • [ON TRACK] [Henrik]: Ask regarding open squid proxy
    • Asked again but it's still lacking action. Will check what to do best
  • [DONE] [SV]: Check who can continue on the pref category change bug
    • Cosmin will continue the work, already checked bug 1083094, which is one of the many blockers for bug 1005811. Will continue this sprint with the second blocker there - bug 1079717
  • [DONE] [Henrik]: install and customize the Ubuntu 14.04 VMs
    • All VMs are nearly ready. Investigated and fixed the Flash update dialog issue, so all should be ready to get enabled soon.

    • [10/29] - Bug 917204 - Add open squid proxy to qa.scl3.mozilla.com for testing purposes (waiting setting up network ACLs)
    • [10/29] - Bug 1066493 - TPS failure: Error: signIn() failed with: "error.sync.reason.serverMaintenance" (depends on bug 1057892)
    • [11/05] - Bug 1083166 - [SCL3] Pulse and maybe other connections are timing out in irregular intervals (maybe also causing test failures when loading web pages)

Test Automation (Softvision)

Creation of automated tests for important regressions

  • bug 1088614 - Add test to undo the add-on removal.
  • bug 799149 - Add mozmill test to ensure that there are no conflicts in context menu access keys.
  • bug 1088500 - Add mozmill test for "Restore Previous Session" feature - needs backport
  • bug 864250 - Create a browser chrome test that checks the zoom level property of the object - needs check-in

Project Updates

Mozmill (Henrik)

  • Enabled Ubuntu's default Firefox browser support for mozmill-automation: https://github.com/mozilla/mozmill-automation/pull/196
  • Ubuntu 14.04 machines are nearly ready to be activated (PR and deploy needed)
  • Active PR to upgrade Jenkins to 1.580.1: https://github.com/mozilla/mozmill-ci/issues/523
    • Sorting out disconnect issues when master goes down - we may have a good solution, which would also be needed for Puppet (call java instead of javaws)
  • Had to temporarily activate Mozmill 2.0.9 on production to get tests working with e10s mode
  • Due to issues with SSL connections we got nearly no normalized build notifications via pulsetranslator - switched to non-SSL for now until the networking issues have been solved.

Mozmill Tests (Softvision)

  • Closed bugs / finished work:
    • bug 1081047 - Add new ui module for the unknownContentType dialog
    • bug 1088007 - Enhance utils.getProperty to accept multiple properties files
    • bug 1093631 - [gum] Test failure "Right scroll arrow has been highlighted shortly." in testTabbedBrowsing/testBackgroundTabScrolling.js
    • bug 994102 - Search engines don't work right away after installation
    • bug 678456 - getSuggestions in search.js returns suggestions for the first letter only

TPS (Henrik)

  • There are no Mozmill tests yet, but otherwise they would get start failing for Nightly builds due to enabled e10s mode - have to upgrade TPS to Mozmill 2.0.9
  • Database changes for FxA servers are hopefully getting deployed soon - needed for the signIn() failure
