Firefox QA Standup - November 19th, 2014

  • [Florin] December 1st is a holiday in Romania, all SoftVision teams will be out of office.
  • [Florin] The cycle was pushed by 1 week. Does this mean that the current sprint is also extended by 1 week?
    • No, sprints will be out of sync with release/merge dates for a while.
  • [Florin] New versions of the Update Hotfix. Why do we keep releasing these update hotfixes? Wasn't this supposed to be a one time deal for updating users stuck with very old versions of Firefox?
    • We still have users who are stuck on older versions, either because the update failed for some reason or they declined to update. We are trying to fix the former and find ways to encourage the latter through additional prompts on first run pages and snippets. We are also looking at expanding the program to non-windows OSs.
  • [ioanachiorean] Any news regarding how mozilla will work between Christmas and new year's eve? Or we'll know better after PDX WW? (I think the answer here was that there will be a week with no assigned bug fixing work. Not sure how QA will work wiht this though.)
