3.6 Test Plan

Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 Testplan

Coordinating QA: juanb in irc.mozilla.org, jbecerra@mozilla.com. Or ping someone in #qa

Description of Release

This is the first beta version of Firefox 3.6 (Namoroka). We intend to have only one beta version for this release. With this in mind, we will run a full series of tests across platforms.

Specific Plan Beta 1

We will finish a full cycle of QA before releasing, but we might consider shipping after a short QA cycle, after which QA could complete a full set of tests while the build is exercised by a larger audience. Check dev-planning@lists.mozilla.org for more details.

Schedule

We will run through Litmus smoketests, full functional tests, l10n spot checks and updates checks, as well as new feature testing, depending on what finally lands for the 1.9.2 branch.

  • Code Freeze: Oct 18
  • Builds Start: Oct 19
  • QA: Oct 19-24
    • Smoketests and Other OS Spot Checks: Oct 19 (3 people)
    • Testday: Oct 24(?) (3 people monitoring)
    • Full Functional Tests (or BFTs): Oct 19-24 (4 people)
