Do all this on the ubuntu instance of the machine...
When you install the black magic card and the HDMI cable daughter attachment...
# Lay machine on its side
# Put the daughter card into the slot above the firewire card
# Put the blackmagic card in the slot at the very bottom (your far left, assuming the box is on its side with the front of the box facing you).
# Connect the HDMI cables from the daughter attachment to the black magic card in the same order -- i.e. the one on "top" (from your current perspective) goes to the "top" connector on the black magic and the "bottom" one goes in the "bottom" one. This means that the HDMI input will be HDMI slot on the daughter board closest to the side of the box that doesn't open. (The right side of the box once it is facing you and standing up properly).
