Other

IT

  • Remora launch
  • Breakpad staging site complete
  • Build support - working on the process, going well.
  • Kernel upgrades - production machines complete
  • cvs-www migration to cvs, announced to website drivers, looking to move this week

Build

  • Welcome to Nick and Kohei, who are here for a few weeks, helping out with build stuff
  • Still in the midst of our March Madness automation push, which is going to slide into April Madness. See bug 355309 for the details if you're interested in helping.
  • We're working on getting Windows and Linux resources into the community network, so projects have those resources in addition to the Macs.
  • IT support of Tinderbox is going well; we're working with IT and QA to get the perf testing machines into on-call support as well.

QA

  • Test Execution
    • Tested 15011/2003 for final release. The release team instituted a Beta program. User feedback showed no problems with our beta release. [juanb, many others]
    • Participated in 15012/2004 triage [juanb]
      • Started investigating missing bookmarks problem after seeing a lot of reports in Hendrix feedback. We'll try to tackle this problem as it is one of the more frustrating one for users. See bug 375102 [juanb]
  • Test Development
    • Updated the Update Checker preferences [bc]
    • Checked in the counter reftests and we are now running them. See bug 3247 (yes, this is a very old bug!) [robcee]
    • Completed a litmus test suite for localizers. The point is to have localizers use this during locale signoff. [tchung]
  • Test Tools and Infrastructure
    • Buildbot Test Infrastructure
      • Started documenting buildbot usage in a Buildbot Testfarm User Manual
      • Investigated integrating killableprocess.py into buildbot. We'd have to implement this in the twisted layer. I'm going to try filing a bug at them to see if we can get someone else to do this.
    • Litmus- worked on bug 370211: updating cookie code to track test runs [coop]
  • Community
    • Helped Emily Chen (Sun China) prepare for their testday and got her setup with admin rights in Litmus. This will be focused on Firefox. It is more Solaris oriented but we should be able to get some good general feedback about Firefox on any platform. [tracy]
    • Bugday on Tues March 20th: Jay's topic; Hendrix work - Sessions slow still.
    • Bugday planning document completed. [tracy]
  • Misc
    • Test Suite/Harness Survey follow-up:
      • Working on mapping test suits to modules. They will review this in a brownbag session next week. [ray and tchung]
      • Working on the roadmap/flowchart to lead developers wanting to do unit tests from the type (C++ or JS) and nature (layout, content, directory services, etc) to a recommended harness for them to use. This will include harness documentation, how to write the first unit test, and sample test cases. [ray]

Product Management and Marketing Updates

Marketing

  • Working with the Foundation on a refresh of the Mozilla Store (both the merchandise and the design of the storefront)
  • Reviewing brand guidelines with an eye to updating these soon
  • Building event calendar for rest of the year, will publish to the web once it's ready

Community

Working on developing a set of stats for measuring community health. If you're interested in helping out, email or IM me.

Mozilla Labs

Developer Relations

Webdev, Add-ons, AMO

AMO

  • The team worked this weekend on troubleshooting load issues with Remora
  • Blog post about this weekend
  • Blog post about what happened on Friday
  • Things still looking good, looks like we resolved things and should be able to announce an official "yes we're live" this week.
  • Will continue to iron out existing bugs and policy issues. Still looking for additional performance tweaks.
  • Thanks to IT and everyone else who worked this weekend to help get AMO on its feet (including Schrep!).

Build automation and breakpad

  • Picking up where AMO interrupted -- bouncer integration and post-stage verification, then breakpad schema work.
