By entering you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding. The Contest is subject to all applicable laws.

How to Enter: To enter the Contest, register on the Add-ons website at https://addons.mozilla.org, write a 200 word or less story about your favorite Firefox for desktop Add-on and how it makes your day more productive, saves you money, or just makes you happy, submit it as a review of that Add-on on the Add-ons website (an “Entry”), and then complete the entry form located at: http://bit.ly/Hvp77C, including a link to your Entry. You may submit up to three (3) Entries. Each Entry must comply with the requirements described on the contest site and in the Work Criteria section below.

You must be the named and authorized account holder of the email address submitted in connection with your Entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Entries submitted will not be returned or acknowledged.

Without limiting any other rights, the Sponsor has the right to, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, reject or remove from the Contest any Entry that, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, violates these Rules, any applicable Sponsor policy, any applicable laws, or is in any way harmful or objectionable. Sponsor also reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or Entry at the Sponsor's sole discretion. No correspondence shall be entered into.

Privacy: To submit an Entry, you must register at https://addons.mozilla.org. As part of registration, you will provide to Mozilla your name and an email address. Winners will be asked for a mailing address for prize delivery. All Entries, including the username selected by the entrant, are public on the Add-ons website and may be publicized in other locations as well. Except as otherwise stated herein or as otherwise agreed by you and the Sponsor, all other personal information you provide in connection with the Contest will be used only for purposes relating to this Contest, and will not be communicated to third-parties without prior permission or as otherwise specified in our Privacy Policy located at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/privacy-policy.html.

Contest Period: The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) (8:01 a.m. GMT) on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, June 24, 2012 (7:59 a.m. GMT on June 25, 2012) (the “Contest Period”). Judging will begin immediately following the end of the Contest Period.

Work Criteria: All Entries must meet specific criteria to be accepted into the Contest. Without limitation, the following conditions apply: (a) the Entry must be 200 words or less; (b) the Entry must be about an Add-on that is (i) for the desktop version of Firefox, (ii) is compatible with the current release version of Firefox, and (iii) is hosted on https://addons.mozilla.org/; (c) the Entry must be your own original work, but it is fine to edit a review you’ve submitted previously; and (d) the Entry must be in English.

In addition to the foregoing, Entries may not: (i) feature or reference any material that infringes upon the rights of any third party, including trademark, copyright, or rights of publicity; (ii) include the personal information of anyone, such as a full name; (iii) contain lewd, vulgar, offensive, obscene or indecent language; (iv) defame or disparage anyone or any group, or include hate speech; (v) include any commercial messaging, such as promotion of goods or services other than the Add-on being discussed; or (v) violate any federal, state or local laws or ordinances, all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Entries that are, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, inappropriate, inconsistent with Sponsor’s image, disparaging, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, may be disqualified.

Selection of Winners: After the Contest Period has ended, all Entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of Mozilla judges. The judges will pick the top ten Entries based on the criteria described below. No more than one Entry submitted by the same entrant will be selected as a top ten pick. Members of the Add-ons community will then judge those top ten Entries using the same criteria described below. Each community member who chooses to participate will pick the one, two, or three Entries from among the top ten Entries that he or she judges best meet the criteria, and the three Entries that receive the most votes will be the winners. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria, which will be equally weighted: (i) Is the story compelling? (ii) How creative is the use of the favorite add-on? And (iii) Does the review capture the “spirit” of the AMO community? The decisions of the judges are final on all matters relating to the Contest and no correspondence will be entered into.

All registered users of the Add-ons site are eligible to judge the top ten Entries. Judging must be based on the criteria listed above. Any individual may vote only once, and may vote for up to three Entries. Any attempt to vote more than once for the same Entry by any means, including but not limited to multiple email addresses, aliases, use of contest services, payoffs or promises to others in exchange for votes, or anything else that is inconsistent with getting an honest picture of the AMO community’s genuine opinion of each entry, is grounds for immediate disqualification of the person submitting (or inducing) such voting, as well as the Entry that is the subject of such activity. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to determine which forms for voting activity may be deemed to violate the spirit of this rule and therefore to be invalid, and also to disqualify and exclude from this Contest and any other contest Sponsor may offer any person(s) engaged in activity that violates any provision of these rules or is otherwise deemed by Sponsor, in its discretion, to be inappropriate, unsportsmanlike or disruptive to the integrity or intended functioning of this Contest.

Prizes: The three winners will each receive an Android tablet, probably a Samsung Galaxy Tab (retail value approximately $400), and a non-cash recognition prize in the form of an AMO homepage feature that includes the winners’ names, photos, and stories.

General Prize Conditions: Winners are solely responsible for the payment of any taxes that may arise as a result of acceptance of a prize, and all other expenses or costs relating to the prize not expressly set forth above (including any wireless service plan). Prizes cannot be transferred or substituted and must be accepted as awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in its sole discretion if an advertised prize becomes unavailable. Please allow 8-10 weeks for prize delivery.

Winner Notification/Validation: The winners will be notified by email on or about August 1, 2012. Each potential winner may be required to sign and return to Sponsor an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release, where lawful, within ten (10) days of the date of winning notification. If any winner is a minor under the laws of his/her place of residence, all documents must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. If a winner cannot be notified within five (5) days after his or her selection, or in the event of non-compliance with any of these requirements, the prize may be forfeited, and another Entry selected as a winner.

Authorization to Use Winner’s Entry Information & Name: By entering, you agree that Sponsor and its designees may use your name, photo (if provided), and basic information about you and your Entry that you submit in any media now known or hereafter developed for promotional and/or publicity purposes, unless prohibited by law.
