Outage Template

On April 9th at 10:45, tb-win32-tbox experienced a service outage for ~ 8 hours.

What was affected:

Thunderbird trunk build

What was the cause of the outage:

Unclear (to me anyway). There was xpidl crash spew in the cygwin terminal but no timestamp to identify when it happened. The tail of the build log is

/usr/bin/make -C .. installer-stage 
make[2]: Entering directory  /cygdrive/d/builds/tinderbox/Tb-Trunk/WINNT_5.2_Depend/mozilla/mail/installer'
Staging installer files...

And a sh.exe was using 100% of the CPU.

What will be done to prevent this in the future:

The sh process was killed. Will monitor for further problems.
