David Zeber started analysis of add-ons/e10s. Current results are as follows:

  • Not much difference between the cohorts in overall app crash rates last week
  • The test cohort had a higher rate of plugin crashes across the past week, although that appears to have been fixed in a recent build
  • While the overall app crash rates were similar between the cohorts, the test cohort had about half the rate of main (chrome) crashes as control, meaning that the remaining crashes were handled as content crashes under e10s.
  • Last week we saw around 200-300 kilohours of usage per day from profiles in the e10s add-ons experiment (test/control) - this is around 3% of the usage from all e10s cohorts on Beta 49.

  • Nearly all the a11y stuff had landed... and then backed out overnight :-(
  • Marionette triggers a race in a11y that the a11y team knows about but has never filed a bug for :-(
  • Made fixes, should be able to re-land. bug 1296333 is part of the workaround for this.
  • I would like to land everything today. Cross your fingers!

  • bug 1290280 - [e10s] Tab crashes on startup
    • Fixed on Nightly, approved for uplift - waiting for a dependency to get approval.
  • Reviewed mrbkap's patch to make View Source and Print Preview work with dom.ipc.processCount > 1.
  • Reviewed billm's patches (for bug 1279086) to make tab switching faster (by interrupting JS to prioritize paint).
