What will your session or activity allow people to make, learn or do?

We live in a world that is full of diversity and different cultures, traditions, rituals, religions etc. People of any age group will enjoy their cultural, values and they quickly learn the things according to their surroundings and environment.

Culture signifies an integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that is both a result of and integral to the human capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations. Every culture has language, beliefs, traditions and codes which act as a foundation for learning, sharing and exploring.

Make

Our session will inspire participants to explore their cultures, extract ideas and innovative things which reflect their lifestyle and beliefs. Regional or cultural based learning will surely motivate participants to draw their cultures on web canvas and share it with the whole world.

Learn

Learn the basics of web with us. We will show how one can share the essence of their culture to the world with help of Webmaker tools. Explore how one can integrate their imagination and creativity with their culture and how to use power of the web.

Do

Come and code with us. Participants will design projects which will be different and innovative. All projects will be culture specific and educative in their own way.

How do you see that working?

Webmaker tools are one of the coolest weapons to plot your culture on screen.

We would be going with the following points:

  • Cultural examples: Learning basics of the web using one's culture as a background.
  • Regional languages: Using one's regional language to create some cool localized content.
  • Explore the scope and benefits of localization.

Celebrate

  • Draw your regional festivals on canvas using the web and celebrate them with rest of the world.
  • Promote your Culture.
  • Promote your regional and cultural specialties like tourist places, tradition, food or cuisines, or anything for that matter by using your imagination and creativity over the web.

Power-up your skills

Enhance your web skills, learn from each other, share ideas and creativity.

How do you deal with 5, 15, 50 participants?

  • For 5-10 people we will create a group, discuss what they want to share about culture ,language, or any other thing and how they can create web stuff to share with the world.
  • For 15-50 participants we will create small teams of 5 persons each team.
  • For more people same will apply.

How long within your session before someone else can teach this?

To introduce the project to the audience will take around half an hour. Displaying a live demo will again take half an hour. And 1 hour for audience meetup to design their ideas.

What do you see as outcomes after the Festival?

  • After the session, participants will surely know the power of web and how web can help to attach string of diversified cultures.
  • They will learn how Webmaker tools enable them to plot their ideas over web.
  • Participants will learn how they can share and teach others to use the power of web.
  • They will know how to create regional and localized stuff.
  • They will be motivated to come forward for several localization projects like Firefox, Thunderbird localizations.
