The following is a list of changes we expect to the mozilla-central talos results when Australis merges. There are a number of expected performance improvements not listed here yet, but we'll have those up soon.

All estimates are approximations.

TART

  • OSX 10.6 (+3.0%), 10.7 (+3.0%)
    • This was investigated in https://bugzil.la/924415#c41 and found to to be the result of a platform-specific deficiency which Firefox has little control over.
  • OSX 10.8 (+5.0%)
    • This is due to an increase in the "error" measurements, which are expected to increase, and is not of concern to the perf team (see https://bugzil.la/936469)

tpaint

  • Windows XP (+2.0% Non PGO, +2.0% PGO)
    • The performance team has expressed that they are not concerned about this regression. (See bug 889758 and dependent bugs for the investigation)

ts_paint

  • Windows XP (+1.0% Non PGO, +2.0% PGO)
    • The performance team has expressed that they are not concerned about this regression. (See bug 880611 and dependent bugs for the investigation)

tscrollx

  • The "regressions" expected here are not regressions at all, and are actually due to the increase to the content area of the browser, which the tscrollx test is sensitive enough to detect.
  • OSX 10.6 (+2.6%), 10.7 (+2.8%), 10.8 (+2.6%)
  • Linux 32 (+1.0% Non PGO, +2.2% PGO), Linux 64 (+1.8% Non PGO, +2.0% PGO)
  • Windows XP (+1.1% Non PGO), Windows 7 (+0.9 Non PGO, +2.2% PGO), Windows 8 (+1.1% Non PGO, +1.1% PGO)

tsvgr_opacity

  • Linux 64 (+1.7% PGO)
    • Not a regression - please see our explanations for tscrollx.

tsvgx

  • Not a regression - please see our explanations for tscrollx.
  • OSX 10.6 (+1.0%), 10.7 (+1.0%), 10.8 (+1.7%)
  • Linux 32 (+2.3% Non PGO), Linux 64 (+4.3% PGO)
