Previous Actions

Schedule Update

  • 47 is live with a staged rollout on both Desktop and Mobile
    • seems like the staged rollout might have failed for Android (the google api changed... maybe this caused the issue?)
    • We broke Web Driver :(
  • esr 45.2.0 should go live a bit later today (liz)
    • esr38 is at end of life now and those users will get updates to 45esr

Add-ons

Aurora

Overall rate: 1.69 (orange) - browser: 1.08, content: 0.61

Beta

Overall rate: 1.10 (orange) - browser: 0.93, content: 0.17

  • crash rate in the browser process is 20% lower compared with the day before the 46 release (e10s experiment wasn't running back then)

Release

Overall rate: 0.97 (orange)

Nightly

rate skewed due to users submitting old crash reports - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269998

  • We may need to manually calculate crash rates on affected channels if needed

Performance (Thu)

Investigated 15% perf regression from Talos for VS2015 builds https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1259923 External benchmarking

  • Project Hasal (Bobby).
    • Team members are traveling, can't respond this quickly.
  • arewefastyet (William Lachance, hannes) (Mostly JS but also DOM, WebGL & Web Audio)
    • No noticeable slowdown for vs2015.
  • openwebgames (Jukka):
    • Overall it looks like that most demos have a tiny win (for vs2015)

Manual testing (Andrei, Eng.QA)

  • The only difference we saw in terms of performance, following the comparison of these builds, is related to page scrolling and switching between tabs, both in favour of the vs2015 build. Loading pages, opening new windows, new tabs, scrolling pages, switching between tabs, etc. We've also benchmarked these builds using Dromaeo and CanvasMark.
