Metro Preview Release

The Metro Preview Release is the en-US feature complete preview planned to be available on the Aurora channel during the Aurora 26 cycle.

• All feature stories, defects and changes required for the Metro Preview Release: View Backlog

• At the conclusion of Iteration #12, given the historical velocity performance values of 30,32,33,46,51,63,68,74,75,75,77,80, the Metro Team has a median velocity of 65 and there is a 90% likelihood that the actual velocity will fall between 33 and 75.

• With a velocity performance of 65 the Metro Team can expect to complete between 132 and 300 more units of work with a median value of 262.

• With a forecasted total of 262 points remaining development would be completed in 4 iterations on October 11, 2013 - Development Iteration #16.

• The Metro Preview Release build is forecasted to "ride the trains" for Firefox 26
  • Iteration #13 completed on mozilla-central August 26th, 2013.
  • Iteration #14 completed on mozilla-central September 10th, 2013.
  • Merge to Aurora 26 on September 16, 2013 during Iteration #15.
  • Iterations #15 and #16 will be completed on mozilla-aurora, concluding all Preview Release work.
  • A Windows Aurora Firefox build will be publicized as the Metro Preview Release.
  • Iteration #17, still on Aurora, will be used to clean up any remaining carry-over and polish work.
  • Merge to Beta at the conclusion of Iteration #17 on October 28, 2013, making Metro Firefox available to our Beta audience.
  • Iterations #18 and #19 will be available if needed for responding to any critical Beta feedback issues that surface.
  • Push to Release on December 10 with Firefox 26 at the conclusion of Iteration #20.

Iteration #12 Performance

• Performance Highlights
  • Team completed 80 story points across 30 features which resulted in an increased average team velocity of 65 story points per iteration.
  • Average team velocity rate increased 3% from the previous iteration.
  • Point closure increased 6% from the previous iteration.

• Quality Highlights
  • The quality performance from the regression testing across Iterations #1 - #11 is as follows:
    • 94% pass rate - a 2% increase from the previous iteration.
    • 6% fail rate - a 25% reduction from the previous iteration.
    • 100% test coverage.
