Firefox2/install/update/options

Also look at Update Notifier https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=2098&application=thunderbird You can better be notified of Extension Updates, and can auto apply them.

Both these are available for Firefox and Thunderbird.
