Introduction

This project is part of AMO pt-BR ( and pt-PT ) boosting effort. This specific wiki page covers an effort where we are helping authors to add portugues descriptions to their Addon entries in AMO.

Translating Descriptions Project

We have many addons * already * in pt-BR and many in pt-PT. But these lack descriptions and titles in addons.mozilla.org. So the end-user sees them in english when navigating AMO.

If you love AMO, communicates well in portuguese and english, and is willing to help this effort please let us know add your name or to the tracking bug ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414030 .) There is a lot of extension authors out there with no pt-BR metadata associated to their extensions in pt-BR. This is not about localizing an extension to pt-BR.

The effort here is comprised of:

Identifying an extension that is provided in pt-BR - get something you like
Create a bug in Evangelism -> Portuguese ->
title friendly so we can find it: AMO pt - Extension Localization Effort / Extension_NAME_HERE
Example -> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418333
Mark the bug as Blocking the 414030 ( or ping marcio )
Contact the author with the proper message, offering meta-data translation work
Verify author acceptance, update the bug - tell the author about the bug
Propose your changes - if you need a review ask for help
check with author when meta-data is pushed
Mark bug fixed
