Comm dev

  • Moz24 - awesome, shaver wanted to show support internationally, part of responsibility ws to set up track on accessibility, Tokyo, felt very global, started 9pm tokyo, 2 hours of qa
  • outcomes - accessibility team that got together felt lots of energy around participating, presentations created for sessions are evergreen so we can use going forward, use videos for next convention in March (Tim will use that)
  • loop in India group
  • didn't sleep for 2-3 days
  • presentation on localization - how to start from scratch, how to start building community, send message looking for localizers
  • good press coverage
  • frenchmozilla.org become npo, build localization tool to help all localizers, early stages, what could they do, see if they could help finance creation of such a tool. Developer (xul mockups), specifications, possible in short term, will start next month. Paul Rouget
  • focus to find tool with ongoing ability to be used and universal, Seth has budget to spend against

Other

  • student team from India: creative marketing and research (ACTION: mic suggest they do research by language, Seth to follow up with Team 21)
  • project day, open source conference in India. Axel and Tim (if possible) and 1 or 2 others. in December. long part of day for localization. takes place in Bangalore. objective people in room to become the community group in Mozilla. to lead contributors through day. launch pad for community to become more organized. remain on Indian mailing list.
