Spread Firefox Redesign Launch Details

Monday, April 6:

• File IT bug to set up static HTML page/Mary
• Finalize Content Change tracker/Mary
• Finish Affiliates testing/Donner & Buchanan
• Final review of bug list/All
• Pull SFx daily stats/ Alex

Tuesday, April 7:

• Approximately 7 p.m. PDT -- take Spread Firefox offline and push static HTML redirect live/Mary/Alex to greenlight this.
  • This should include setting up a temporary private DNS in production which points to the production site, so that we can set up the new version while spreadfirefox.com redirects to an outage page.

• Back up production DB

• Apply changes to production site/ Alex
  • Update code (i.e. svn up to tags/production@HEAD)
  • IT run to updates.sql file to capture Drupal, settings and other changes.
  • Add new content

• Mary, Alix and QA team to begin site review when Alex says so.

• Mary, Stephen and Buchanan sign off on throwing the switch on the launch bug.

• Flip the spreadfirefox.com Apache/DNS config from the outage page, back to the actual site
