Meeting notes
- Changes
- Add one or more URL fields to a reference
- Add integration with Google patents - for now, a link to any relevant patents is sufficient. Need a field to store this.
- Implement search by tag - add/remove tags to/from your search and watch the results change accordingly
- Integrate search with Google Patents API (Harvey has a contact)
- Implement a discussion associated with each reference
- Business rule: anonymous users can add a reference, but only logged in users can change a reference
- Business rule: anyone can tag
- References must be able to be locked by an admin
- Add revision history for references, wiki-style
- Store tag weight for references Amazon-style (ie the more people have tagged a reference "foo" the more weight "foo" has)
- Add a section for "related references" and "related patents"
- Change reference name to 1. generic descriptive name 2. product or project name, if any
- Taxonomy:
- Austin to send Sourceforge taxonomy info to Tiffney as a starting point
- Tiffney to work on refining a taxonomy
- Use sourceforge taxo until we have something better
- Things we'd like to do in 2009:
- First prior art tagging day: helpers on IRC, tutorial (cf support firefox day)
- 10,000 refs by end of year
- Bulk uploads from partners (specific scripts to do this)
- Implement a "references needing tagging" queue
