Pivotal Tracker
Pivotal Tracker is an Agile Project Management tool.
It is in use by the following groups so far:
- TCM: https://www.pivotaltracker.com/projects/280483
- Mozmill Tests https://www.pivotaltracker.com/projects/289215
- Mozmill Crowd https://www.pivotaltracker.com/projects/285911
Features we care about
- Easy to use
- Public accessible (read-only) and with different membership roles
- Makes prioritizing tasks simple and visually intuitive with drag and drop
- Categorization of tasks with labels
- Automatically moves tasks between the current list and the backlog dependent on the estimates of complexity - building up a queue of tasks
- Integrates with Bugzilla (see limitations below)
- Pretty graphs to show activity in the project with breakdown to members and specific date ranges
- Good overview about who is working on which tasks
How is it useful to QA?
- Managing QA projects where prioritizing tasks and having releases is important
- QA development projects
Bugzilla Integration
- You must create the bug in Bugzilla, then PT will find it
- Making a story in PT is NOT reflected in BZ
- Only Summary, Description come over from BZ
- Comments made in BZ are NOT reflected in PT
- Comments made in PT ARE reflected in BZ
- No control over BZ milestones from PT
- WE SHOULD WORK WITH THE BUGZILLA TEAM TO MAKE A BETTER INTEGRATION
Discussion
- (Henrik) Trial period is not that long. If we decide to use this tool we should request a plan early enough to move existing projects over. Looks like we could even get it for free.
- (Henrik) What will we track in Pivotaltracker vs. Scrumpad
