The following is a checklist of tasks which should be performed by the event moderator(s) the day of the event.

1. Change the topic of the IRC channel to the title of your event with a bit.ly shortened URL to the event page on QMO.

2. Every hour, post a message to other IRC channels asking people to join your event. For example, "Come help us test Firefox! Join #testday".

3. Every two hours, tweet the bit.ly shortened link to the QMO event page. For example, "MozillaQA is testing the Firefox Add-ons Manager today! Come help us make Firefox better! <bit.ly link>"

4. Every hour, take note of the number of users in the channel, the number of active users in the channel (count the user messages for the hour), and the number of bugs filed.

NOTE: You can stop these messages roughly 60% of the way through your event. For a 9-5 event, you'll usually peak around 2pm.
