Council Elections

We talked about the upcoming Council elections and decided to have the elections roughly at the same dates as previous year in October. Michael has asked the Reps Peers to start the process. We encourage everyone who is planning on running for Council to apply for the Leadership events (especially the Work Week and the Leadership Summit).

Participation Team Heartbeat Items and the Council

We discussed how we can get more involved with the Participation Team Heartbeat items and reminded everyone that

Council Process Improvements

A few weeks ago we started a document which lists processes that are not as efficient as they should be and are blocking us in concentrating on strategy discussions. We discussed those points in the meeting and decided to change the Budget Request Voting process within Council, so we don't need to extend votes as often. From now on, the first person looking at the voting will write general notes into the comment field so we have a first status at the beginning of the discussion phase and can flag problems with a request (not enough information, for example) as early as possible. This worked well for the first voting that came up this week and we will continue to improve our processes.

Open Work

Since there are currently at lot of tasks open on the Trello board, we went through each of them and reprioritized the items. A few of the tasks are now dependent on upcoming discussions regarding strategy (see below). We reprioritized in a way that allows us to be as efficient as possible and get long-outstanding tasks done. You can find the board here: https://trello.com/b/aqQ8cgqz/mozilla-reps

ReMo 2.0

In the last months we didn't have as much time as we'd hoped to have to focus on the "ReMo 2.0" strategy discussion. The first step is to have full buy-in from all the Council members. Once we have that we can start several discussions to get a solid proposal and action items for the direction of the Reps program over the next month and year.
