Data in Datazilla is collected from automated tests. Some of these tests reside within gaia in tests/performance, and there are also Python tests on github in the [https://github.com/mozilla/b2gperf b2gperf] repository. There is a Jenkins instance in Mountain View which runs the automated tests against physical devices. Tests are run against apps with data using https://github.com/mozilla/b2gpopulate.
Data in Datazilla is currently always submitted by the Python based [https://github.com/mozilla/b2gperf b2gperf] tool, however the data can be collected either using b2gperf itself or Gaia's [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Platform/Automated_testing/Gaia_performance_tests performance tests]. The b2gperf tests use [https://github.com/mozilla/b2gpopulate b2gpopulate] to push reference workloads to the device, however the [https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/blob/002c73b3de9ed5f217e6d24b50abec255da71de0/Makefile#L579 reference-workload targets] are used ahead of the Gaia performance tests. The long term plan is to retire b2gperf once the Gaia performance tests provide equal or better coverage and are capable of uploading directly to Datazilla. There is a [http://jenkins1.qa.scl3.mozilla.com:8080/ Jenkins instance] in Mountain View which runs the automated tests against physical devices.
