Currently being Defined

(n * two) SUMO "Ladder" Badges

(take advantage of existing SUMO badges which are not open badges)

  • "ladder" refers to the ladder diagram that Rosana and Michael came up with on 20 March 2013 and refers to SUMO groups that are part of this ladder concept
  • very tentative!!!!! (proposed during SUMO Work Week 20 March 2013) - group names and number of groups may change subject to approval by the community and the SUMO team
  • one badge for being made a member of a SUMO "ladder" user group:
    • proposed SUMO user groups: editors, reviewers, senior reviewers, researchers, content lead, content strategists (total:n group member badges where n is the number of ladder groups; in this case n=6)
  • one badge for being made a leader of a SUMO "ladder" user group:
    • proposed SUMO user groups: editors group leader, reviewers group leader, senior reviewers, researchers, content lead, content strategists (total:n group leader badges where n is the number of ladder groups;in this case n=6)
  • algorithmically issued as people are added to the groups and made group leaders starting Q3
  • a total of "2n" badges have to be designed

(y* 2) SUMO "Group" Badges

these are "affiliate badges" that as opposed to participation or achievement badges!

  • for SUMO groups that aren't part of a ladder
  • one badge for being made a member of a SUMO user group:
    • current SUMO user groups: android, taggers, ffos (total:y group member badges where y is the number of non ladder groups;in this case y=3)
  • one badge for being made a leader of a SUMO user group:
    • current SUMO user groups: android, taggers, ffos (total:y group leader member badges where y is the number of non ladder groups;in this case y=3)
  • algorithmically issued as people are added to the groups and made group leaders starting Q3
  • a total of "2y" badges have to be designed

Karma Dashboard Badges

  • SUMO issues "sumo badges" (not Open Badges badges) for karma dasboard badges:
    • top 10 contributor, top 25 contributor etc.
    • based on last 3 months
  • The future evolution of these karma dashboard badges is currently unclear so it would be premature to make them open badges in Q2;however I expect this to be clearly defined in Q3 which we means we can make open badges for the karma badges in Q3

"Parking Lot" for badge programs on hold

1 Firefox OS Beta Dog Fooding Program Badge per FF OS launch country
