Notes

  • PBackground
    • still awaiting mrbkap's review
    • janv poking around a bit
    • bent is using it for async IDB
  • IPC logging discussion
    • Ted Clancy (new guy on Gaia SystemsFE team; welcome!) is working on improving IPC message log and making it easier to get on devices
    • this will not be turned on by default due to it slowing things down
  • Async IDB
    • baku make TransactionThreadPool not need DOM objects any more (they all live on the child side)
      • parent side only has DB things (ex. sql filenames, transaction IDs)
      • quotamanager needs similar work; janv is working on this
    • edge cases are slowing things down; c'est la vie
    • 2 goals this week: bent moving async idb along, mrbkap reviewing PBackground
  • Why don't we have notifications on IDB changes?
    • people didn't agree on a spec
    • it could slow things down a *lot* (depending upon level of change notification)
    • unclear who would use it, etc.
  • Hsinyi: CDMA and LTE feature work going on in conjunction with partners
  • Jan working on converting asm.js cache to PBackground
  • baku working on DataStore service in C++; building upon Gene's ongoing DataStore wrapper (khuey involved here too)
  • Work week topics, next big thing
