Basics

Short description: A project looking at how we can creatively engage the kids, prepared them to the next generation of Web 2.0, as well as there parent and teachers.

The evolution of Social Networking and all other Web 2.0 applications are amazing, from merely a communication tool to a great way of leveraging knowledge. But most of these sites are mostly for adults though you can find some kids using these sites. So, I thought of creating a mashup kids activity space for them, where in they can interact and collaborate with other kids globally, executable learning activities from different OER, interactive games and all kids’ wiki resources. A great way to prepare kids on blogging, research and use of social sites.

Audience:

  • students ( 0-13)
  • teachers
  • Parents
  • Community Developers ( content and Software & Game Developers)

Goals:

  • To develop an online place for kids, that they can collaborate, have fun and explore on their own.
  • A virtual place where family can work, communicate and have fun together.
  • A web service of activities for kids, teachers and parents.
  • Avenue for diverse learning activities.

How does it work?: Typical social networking site, but with high level of security since these involve minor users. (I need to find out more about this if there’s some federal law governing this ..etc)
