Yep. Installing the STEEL extension did it. I didn't understand the blog instructions correctly. Sorry.
BTW: too bad the bugs' links don't have tooltips that shows the bugs' descriptions. It'd be great to have that everywhere (Tb, Planet mozilla, ...). Anyhow: Thanks for a great extension!

This extension doesn't seem to work. I installed it in Thunderbird version 3.0a1pre (2008040402) and restarted Thunderbird. I then viewed a bugzilla bug e-mail that contained a bug #### reference (see below). It was not linkified. :-(
