Summary

Dynamic space for producing books using a number of strategies. In particular we will investigate:

  • book sprints
  • translation sprints
  • book binding
  • chapbook
  • micro-publishing

What do you want to achieve? (goal)

  • Show how easy it is to make books (real, bueatiful looking books)
  • Show how book creation and book production processes can be a dynamic and interesting tool for teaching and learning in the open web.
  • Gather people interested in learning more about the open web and P2P knowledge production methodologies.

  • Designers and developers
  • Teachers and book lovers
  • People interested in book printing

What will they do when they get there? (activities)

  1. Propose or join a writing, translating or printing process
  2. Choose among the output formats
  3. Discuss variations and educational scenarios where quick printing could be useful

What will you / they have at the end? (outputs)

  • Manual books in Spanish and English (but also Catalan if there are enough participants).
  • Collections of chapbooks related to other activities, discussions or posts from the festival.
  • A van at the square that could distribute also the outputs at a given moment.
