Idea: Have a team of mentors acting in a similar capacity to the Human-API from previous years, but with the more engaging of participants sitting in the big space, not working on anything in particular.
Mentors should...
- ...have experience with prior events that either they've run, or attended.
- ...be outgoing, and able to engage people in a making activity.
- ...have a good understanding of starter makes exist, and the skills they encourage.
Goals:
- Teach webmaking to those who wouldn't have thought of the technical side of things (html, css, js) as being something they could do at the festival.
- Recuit more mentors into the webmaker community.
- Act in a similar capacity to the human api, but with less focus on technical work, and more on teaching webmaking skills.
There will be:
- Teaching
- Helping those who don't think they can code, code.
- Sharing
- Skills, makes, experience
- Organizing
- Breakout learning + games
