LDAP Directories use object identifiers which are globally unique and centrally registered.

Mozilla.org's base OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769

Naming Conventions:

Mozilla Thunderbird Codebase

New OIDs should be generated based on the LDAP convention directly under the base.

Examples:

  • 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769.2.1.2 - mozillaUseHtmlMail attributetype

Mozilla Core Codebase

Mozilla.org base testing oid is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769.666.666.666

New OIDs MUST be annotated here and is recommended to use the testing oid as base.

  • 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769.666.666.666.1.500.9.1 - Testing EV policy
  • 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769.666.666.666.1.500.9.2 - Test OCSP response extension

Web Apps and Services

Convention is TBD.

Mozillians.org

Proposal: This project will use 1.3.6.1.4.1.13769.3000 as the base OID and then the usual OID numbering conventions underneath.
