Meeting notes

• Changes
  • Add one or more URL fields to a reference
  • Add integration with Google patents - for now, a link to any relevant patents is sufficient. Need a field to store this.
  • Implement search by tag - add/remove tags to/from your search and watch the results change accordingly
  • Integrate search with Google Patents API (Harvey has a contact)
  • Implement a discussion associated with each reference
  • Business rule: anonymous users can add a reference, but only logged in users can change a reference
  • Business rule: anyone can tag
  • References must be able to be locked by an admin
  • Add revision history for references, wiki-style
  • Store tag weight for references Amazon-style (ie the more people have tagged a reference "foo" the more weight "foo" has)
  • Add a section for "related references" and "related patents"
  • Change reference name to 1. generic descriptive name 2. product or project name, if any

• Taxonomy:
  • Austin to send Sourceforge taxonomy info to Tiffney as a starting point
  • Tiffney to work on refining a taxonomy
  • Use sourceforge taxo until we have something better

• Things we'd like to do in 2009:
  • First prior art tagging day: helpers on IRC, tutorial (cf support firefox day)
  • 10,000 refs by end of year
  • Bulk uploads from partners (specific scripts to do this)
  • Implement a "references needing tagging" queue
