I am Sr. Community Manager for Thunderbird, and I invite you to get involved in the great Thunderbird community. As Community Manager I facilitate, promote and provide productive discussion forums, activities, and resources that enable the community to work together toward a more awesome Thunderbird. Catch me at @wsmwk:matrix.org, SUMO or wayne [at] thunderbird.net and vseerror [at] fastmail.com.

For two decades I've supported users and worked in various areas of Thunderbird: bug triage and QA, crashes, dataloss, stability, search and performance to name a few. Frequently seen helping users in Thunderbird Support (SUMO), Connect, and reddit. Accessibility advocate.

How YOU can help

Please join us!

We are a supportive, global community, whose members in many languages are eager to contribute to the evolution of Thunderbird, and volunteer to help others. You can join us at forums where we discuss improvements, plans and testing, and submit your ideas at Connect.

You can help other users in support (SUMO), [reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird), matrix and other locations. We have statistical insight about Thunderbird at Thunderbird Bitergia and Thunderbird stats.

You can try any (or all) of our Thunderbird update channels - esr, release, beta and daily (development builds) - to help us test and improve Thunderbird. Come and learn more at Release Channels.

And we have a chat room where we don't talk about Thunderbird, at Thunderbird & Chill

Beyond Community

Beyond community management, I help developers and users in stability and performance issues, and general problem determination by doing testing and QA and bug triage, and providing documentation for these activities. Examples:

My bug reports Past year

History

Thunderbird volunteer 2001-2022, and Release Manager for almost a decade. Bugzilla fan. Resurrected PalmSync add-on. Founding member of Thunderbird Council, and council member 2014-2020. Forty-five years in higher education doing mainframe and Windows servers, networking, SANs and VMWare, and backup systems.

Interests

I'm happy to chat with others who have similar interests in: sailing (Hobie catamaran), all music, singing, trail running on Appalachian Trail (which have cost me teeth), anything involving water and woods. Personal home page with some of these items.
