After Firefox 3.5 / Gecko 1.9.2
Dropping LiveConnect and XPCOM Plugins
We're likely to drop LiveConnect in the Firefox post-3.5 timeframe. There are a couple of consumers of this code - one is the mac plugin for Java which is being migrated to use the NP interfaces. And there are some other binary add-ons that also use it. Johnny seems to think that you should be able to build LC outside of our tree and they can use it directly that way.
We're going to drop support for XPCOM Plugins in the post-3.5 timeframe.
