Delivery Timeline
The Public Beta is scheduled for release at the end of Q1. A full list of features and their completeness / estimates are available on our Github Milestones page.
Beta Features
The Beta release came in two parts, on March 1st, during the DML conference in San Francisco, an initial private beta was launched that showcased the new Issuer API, a functioning Backpack, and a basic Displayer view. The full public beta will add several feature enhancements to the DML-launched private beta:
- Improved UI for Issuer API (on hold until 4/10/12 for final changes)
- A Displayer API that will allow for build out of widgets, including a demo widget that will allow embedding of a public backpack group on a perosnal site
- Hashed user id's in assertions
- Expiring assertions
Documentation Improvements
In addition to the technology improvements above, a significant portion of the work for Beta launch is documentation related. This Beta will be many users, issuers and displayers first interaction with the OBI, so it's important that on-boarding process is positive.
