Foundation/Fellowships

Fellowships

Mozilla Foundation has run Fellowship programming since 2011. Since its inception, Mozilla Foundation has hosted 208 unique Fellows across 37 countries. In 2026, the Fellowships program moved from the Grants department to the department of Imagination and Strategic Growth.

Today's Mozilla Fellows

In it's current form, the Fellowships Program declares the future of tech imagination. Each Fellow is doing something too early, too unexpected or too big for the usual funding circuits to have caught up with yet.

The Fellowship Program in broken into two tracks:

  1. Independent Fellows. These Fellows are supported directly by Mozilla Foundation to pursue self-directed work, selected for their vision, autonomy and ability to move a field forward on their own terms.
  2. Embedded Fellows. These Fellows are placed within civil-society host organizations, to prove that people-centered technology is something you can build well.

Meet our current cohort of Fellows here.

The Fellowships Program is managed by Kat Cadungog (Program Manager, Fellowships).
